Make this apple wood smoked ham with a brown sugar glaze on your Kamado instead of an ordinary fully-cooked spiral ham and wow your guests (and your taste buds).
I’m still dreaming of the Easter ham we grilled on our Saffire Grill. I had never grilled a full ham before and decided to try grilling a spiral fully cooked ham instead of an uncooked one for my first go at it. I grilled it on my Saffire Grill, threw in some apple wood chips, made the glaze, and it turned out delicious.
This was my first time hosting Easter and it also happened to be amidst a little construction project we are working on in our home, so it wasn’t the fanciest of meals; we ended up eating in our sunroom.
I made a relish tray and had chips and dip with some punch out for the family to munch on. Someone immediately beelined it to the chips and dip as soon as they were set out…
We were planning on doing our Easter egg hunt before eating, but it had rained a lot the night before and dediced to eat first in hopes of the grass drying more. I kept the menu simple: ham off the Saffire Grill, cheesy mashed potatoes, rolls, and my sister brought a green bean salad.
Overall, it was a very nice Easter! Grilling the ham on the Saffire made everything so much easier (and tastier). It’s always nice to free up room in your kitchen and oven when you’re hosting!
